PAACT are now a registered ASDAN Learning Centre

What is ASDAN?

ASDAN is an education charity and awarding organisation whose curriculum programmes and qualifications transform life chances through learning.

Our courses are designed to:

  • engage and motivate learners
  • promote achievement
  • inspire children, young people and educators to be ambitious about learning
  • build belief, confidence and self-esteem
  • release young people’s potential

Our courses foster personal, social and work-related skills, enabling learners to discover, develop and make full use of their abilities.

What does this mean for PAACT and what can we offer you?

PAACT can now provide a range of programmes and short courses that are flexible, online and portfolio-based programmes designed to accredit activity and skills development across a range of topics and curriculum areas.

This would be ideal for families who are home educating, or are interested in extending their child/young person’s development in life skills and the wider community. ASDAN can be used as a home educating programme, or it can be used alongside the learner’s mainstream/specialist educational setting.

The Life Skills Challenge Programme is a great one to start with and is all inclusive to ages as young as 6. The Challenge is for a year, but can be extended year upon year which makes it a great, flexible programme. Learners can do as many challenges as they would like to and there are literally over 1,000 challenges to choose from such as cooking, food preparation, personal hygiene, shopping, using public transport, animal care, gardening etc.

You can find examples of the challenges to give you an idea of the wealth of learning opportunities.

As well as the Life Skills Challenge Programme, we also have to offer:

  • Key Steps for ages 10-14 years
  • Lift Off – making the transition from Y6 Primary into Y7 Secondary
  • Short Courses for ages 13-19 year with 35 titles (please ask for these)
  • Accelerating Progress in Maths and English for ages 14+ to help support GCSE’s in Key Stage 4

PAACT are investing in ASDAN with the support of Lincolnshire Autistic Society by becoming a registered Learning Centre, because we understand and identify that our children/young adults all learn in different ways and ASDAN allows the learning of skills to be flexible and unique to all who participate. The learning fits in with the learner, not the other way around! Further details about ASDAN, can be found at
